Bath-Pro Guilty of Illegal Advertising in South Jersey.
On March 25, 2008, Michael Farr owner of Bath Pro pled guilty in Pitman Municipal Court for advertising specific plumbing services in the 12/19/07 issue of the Trend weekly newspaper, a violation of the NJ Plumbing Licensing Law. Mr. Farr was alledged to quote a price for a new tub, tub walls, and single handle faucet.
The advertisement stated "Licensed", however as of the court appearance no New Jersey Master Plumber License or Home Improvement Contractor Registration could be validated. The Honorable Judge Powell issued a $500.00 along with the usual court fee's and state mandated fines. In addition to the fines a plumbing restraining order was issued. Judge Powell told Mr. Farr that if he was brought before him again he would recieve the maximum $2,500.00 fine.
Per Mr. Devine, the complaintant, Michael Farr told the Gloucester County Master Plumbers Association President Joe Remshard and other plumbers that he would not be doing plumbing again.
