Home Depot Pleads Guilty of "Contracting Plumbing Services" by using unlicensed plumbers.
Deptford Prosecutor Augusta Joy Pistilli requested the maximum fine of ten thousand dollars because Home Depot is a large operation performing contracting services through-out NJ. However attorney for Home Depot Harold Matalon argued and requested the same fine Spirit Delivery and Distribution received back in March of 2007. The honorable Judge Golden agreed to a six hundred dollars fine and mandatory fee's.
Its alledged that during the Spirit case Home Depots Attorney was heard to say "Home Depot would never plead guilty to violating the state plumbing law." - I guess that old saying is correct - "Never say Never"
Since Home Depot operates through-out NJ one has to wonder if this is an isolated case or not. Sources tell www.MyNJPlumber.com that it is possible this can be a wide spread problem.
If you are a NJ Consumer and feel you have been violated by Home Depot or one of their "Authorized Contractors" please contact us with the details. We are serious about helping to protect NJ Consumers from illegal plumbers who can cause injury or death by their lack of traning.
